Puno Peru

Puno is a city in southeastern Peru, located on the shore of Lake Titicaca. It is the capital city of the Puno Region and the Puno Province. Puno has several churches dating back from the colonial period; they were built to service the Spanish population and evangelize the natives. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Floating Islands. • The Islands of Taquile and Amantani. • The peninsulas of Chucuito and Capachica that form the right and left arm of the Puno Bay. • The panoramic viewpoints of the Puma and the Condor statues. • The Dreyer Museum close to the main square, and the Yavari boat museum. • The Galindo Gallery with paintings in the Cusco School style, the Paleontological Museum and theTotora Museum.
