WINTER ADVENTURE IN LAPLAND – FROM HELSINKI TO ROVANIEMI

Upon your arrival at Helsinki Airport, you will find your driver in the arrivals hall with a sign bearing your name, ready to transfer you to your hotel in the city centre.

Start your day with breakfast at your hotel and enjoy a leisurely morning. The city tour begins in the hotel lobby and includes iconic landmarks such as the Sibelius Monument, Temppeliaukio Church, and the Oodi Library overlooking the Parliament Building. You'll also explore Helsinki Central Station, Senate Square, and the surrounding area. The 4-hour tour concludes at the train station, where you'll board your overnight train to Rovaniemi, equipped with twin-bed cabins.

You will arrive in the morning at Rovaniemi train station, where your driver will be waiting with a sign bearing your name for your transfer to your hotel. Early morning check-in is subject to availability. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the Lappish Culture and Reindeer Safari experience. You will experience a traditional reindeer sleigh ride while taking in the beauty of the Arctic landscape. Photography enthusiasts will find numerous opportunities both during the ride and at the reindeer farm. You will learn about the ancient tradition of reindeer herding from local farmers and have the opportunity to feed the reindeer their favorite treat: lichen.

Afterward, you will warm up with a hot drink and Finnish pulla before continuing your pleasant sleigh ride through this unique environment. On your return, you will visit Santa Claus Village. You will meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle. You can explore souvenir shops, Santa's Main Post Office, cafes, and restaurants. The Arctic Circle is clearly marked in the town, and you can even get a certificate for crossing it.

Enjoy breakfast and a relaxing morning at your hotel before preparing for a husky sled safari through the frozen forests of Lapland. You'll be picked up from your hotel late in the morning for a three-hour safari.

Escape the city and drive your own team of dogs through the magical Lappish wilderness. The sound of the huskies panting and the snow crunching under the sled creates the perfect soundtrack for this adventure. This popular safari lets you experience the thrill of leading a team of dogs firsthand. Afterward, you'll have time to spend with the huskies, learn interesting facts about sled dogs, and take memorable photos. A cozy yurt awaits you after the safari, where you'll enjoy stories and warm berry juice.

In the evening, you'll embark on a three-hour Northern Lights safari by car and on foot. We'll take you out during the optimal time for viewing the aurora borealis, typically between 9:00 PM and midnight. You'll learn about this phenomenon and why it's only visible in the north. While you enjoy nature in its purest form, our guide will prepare snacks and hot drinks at our outdoor campsite.

Today you will be picked up from your hotel around 7:00 AM and transferred to the port of Axelsvik, near Kalix, Sweden, for an icebreaker cruise.

The Polar Explorer, a tourist icebreaker, offers a three-hour cruise through the icy waters of the Bothnian Sea in Lapland. You will witness the ship's impressive power as it cuts through the ice, take a guided tour from the engine room to the captain's bridge, and watch an 11-minute short film about icebreakers from around the world. The tour is available in 16 languages ​​via audio guide.

Relax in the cozy lounge with a hot juice or walk on the sea ice during the stop. The icebreaker creates an ice-free pool where visitors can float in the icy water wearing a thermal survival suit. The captain will present you with a Cruise and Swim certificate as a special souvenir. Lunch is served on board or, on the return trip, in a small Swedish fishing village.

Enjoy breakfast and a relaxing morning at your hotel before getting ready for a snowmobile safari. After pickup, we'll head to Olleronvaara, about 10 km from the city, where you can immerse yourself in the wild and beautiful surroundings. We'll travel at a relaxed pace so you can get comfortable on the snowmobile and will make several stops along the way. Don't hesitate to ask your guide about driving or for tips, unless you're busy capturing the Arctic beauty with your camera. The tour concludes after the snowmobile safari.

Your Arctic adventure comes to an end after breakfast. From Rovaniemi, you can fly to Helsinki or continue on to various cities in Sweden, Norway, or other European destinations, depending on your travel plans.
