Transfer to the airport. Departure to Cusco. Arrival, assistance, and transfer to the hotel.

We will ascend to the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park and begin the tour by visiting the fortress of the same name, a beautiful place that exudes peace and tranquility. We will admire the enormous rocks, up to 4 meters high, that were used in its construction. We will continue to Q'enqo, the ancient Temple of the Puma, where you can see an altar for sacrifices inside a huge rock, and then to Tambomachay, sacred fountains of life and health. Along the way, we will have a panoramic view of Puca Pucará, a watchtower that guarded the entrance to the city. Afterward, we will go to the Temple of the Sun, Qorikancha, upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo was built. Legend says that this temple was completely covered in sheets of gold, which amazed the conquistadors upon their arrival. Finally, we will visit the Plaza de Armas and enter the Cathedral, which houses invaluable colonial works and paintings, such as the cross that arrived with the first conquistadors.

Today we will visit the most outstanding sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will depart for the town of Chinchero, the most typical and picturesque in the Sacred Valley. This town is famous for its women weavers. We will make a brief stop at a textile center to appreciate the ancient Inca techniques for dyeing and spinning alpaca wool. We will visit its Inca plaza with its beautiful colonial church. We will continue to Moray, a beautiful Inca archaeological site composed of concentric agricultural terraces that served as a laboratory for recreating microclimates. Lunch. We will continue to visit the last living Inca town, Ollantaytambo.

We will visit the Temple of the Ten Windows, the Baths of the Ñusta (Inca princess), and the Temple of the Sun. The panoramic views from the heights of Ollantaytambo will bring this magical day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas to a close. Overnight in the area.

DAY 04 MACHU PICCHU, LOST CITADEL

The long-awaited day to discover one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Boarding at Ollantaytambo station. Departure on the selected train. Arrival at Machu Picchu station. Our staff will assist you in boarding the bus that will ascend a winding road, offering spectacular views of the Urubamba River and carving its way through a deep canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will welcome you with its incredible terraces, staircases, ceremonial sites, and urban areas. The energy emanates from the entire place. Lunch. At the agreed-upon time, return by train and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight stay.

We'll embark on a great adventure to Rainbow Mountain, Vinicunca. Very early in the morning, we'll depart by van along the South Valley until we reach the town of Cusipata. Breakfast. Then we'll begin our ascent along a communal dirt road to reach an altitude of 4,800 meters. We'll start a 4-kilometer hike along a trail, observing the snow-capped Ausangate mountain range in the distance. Our guide will accompany you and teach you how to walk at high altitude. The network of colorful mountains will gradually appear until we reach the viewpoint at 5,000 meters above sea level. Its geological formations will reveal all their splendor. Vinicunca is one of the great attractions that you shouldn't miss on your trip to Peru. Free time for photos. Afterward, we'll descend along the same trail to board our vehicle and return to Cusipata. Lunch. Return to Cusco

DAY 06 SINGRENACOCHA LAGOON

In the morning, we'll depart from Cusco to visit Singrenacocha Lagoon, one of the most enigmatic and little-explored natural treasures of the Peruvian highlands. En route, we'll stop at the Cuyuni viewpoint, where we'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Ausangate mountain. We'll arrive at the community of Yanamarca, where our hike begins. We'll cross a small stone forest, ideal for photographing the local flora and fauna (alpacas, Andean geese, and viscachas). We'll reach the base of the lagoon (4,381 meters above sea level), with the Colque Cruz mountain as a backdrop, where we'll have time to admire its beauty, take photographs, and enjoy the surroundings. After lunch, we'll return to Cusco.

CHILD POLICY

  • Child rates are based on triple occupancy.
  • Children are considered to be up to 11 years and 11 months old; after that, the adult rate applies.
  • Children aged 2 to 4 years may be eligible for a rate without a bed, which does not include breakfast.
  • To qualify for the child rate, a copy of the child's ID is required; otherwise, the child will be considered an adult. If the program includes an excursion to Machu Picchu, the original ID must be presented upon arrival.

CUSCO NOTES:

  • The Lima/Cusco flight should be scheduled for early morning (arriving in Cusco no later than 11:30 am) so that passengers can rest and acclimatize before starting the afternoon tour (1:30 pm).
  • The Machu Picchu tour is quoted on the EXPEDITION train service with lunch at a local restaurant (drinks not included).
  • Entrance tickets to Machu Picchu are limited and subject to availability until we receive the order and complete information (full name, passport or national identity card number (it must be the same document you will travel with), date of birth, and nationality).
  • Once purchased and issued: Tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged. In case of cancellation, the penalty is 100%.

CLIMATE

LIMA

  • Pleasant with two distinct seasons.
  • Summer, from December to March, with temperatures reaching 27°C (81°F).
  • Winter, from April to November, with temperatures as low as 12°C (54°F). Rainfall is almost nonexistent, although during the winter there is often fog and light drizzle or mist.

CUSCO

  • Dry and temperate, sunny during the day.
  • From April to October: sunny days (15-22°C/59-72°F), cool nights (2-8°C/36-46°F), and little rain. This is the ideal time to visit Cusco.
  • From November to March: summer season with frequent rains, with February being the most intense month. During this time, temperatures usually rise 2-3°C (16-17°F), with a marked difference between day and night temperatures.

VINICUNCA

  • Highly variable temperature due to its location at 5,200 meters (17,500 feet) above sea level. In the area surrounding Ausangate Mountain
  • From April to June and from October to December: sunny days (7°C to 22°C) and little rain. This is the ideal time to visit Vinicunca.
  • From July to September: the coldest season in Vinicunca, with frequent snowfall but little rain.
  • From November to March: summer season with cloud cover, frequent rain, and possible snowfall. Average temperature between 0°C and 12°C.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Long-sleeved shirt. Solar radiation is high at this altitude. Protect your skin.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Hat or cap. You can also buy one at the artisan markets and support the local economy.
  • Warm clothing for the evenings and high-altitude clothing for Vinicunca, and a scarf.
  • Horse and walking sticks for the Vinicunca excursion.
  • Comfortable walking shoes. Trekking shoes.
  • Raincoat, for use from November to March. Avoid buying single-use raincoats.
  • Reusable water bottle. Many hotels have water filters available to refill your reusable water bottle. We support reducing the use of single-use plastic water bottles.

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS

The suggested visits or tours, whose price is described in the program, will be offered by our local operator and can be purchased from here or directly there. However, if the passenger decides to participate in any of these activities, they should not be booked with a different operator, as the schedules may vary. The itinerary established for the tours may vary. The guide has full autonomy to modify the order of the scheduled visits for logistical, operational, or weather-related reasons, always respecting the contracted services.

  • 120 days prior to the start of the trip: 50% payment of the contracted program price
