Description

A journey through Thailand that combines culture, nature, and relaxation. Bangkok welcomes you with its iconic temples, glittering palaces, and the vibrant rhythm of a city full of contrasts. In the north, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai reveal another side of the country: tea plantations nestled among hills, villages of ancient ethnic groups, brightly colored temples, and close encounters with elephants in a responsible environment. The mountains, rivers, and spirituality of the north create a unique atmosphere.

The journey culminates on the idyllic beaches of the south: first Phuket, with its tropical ambiance, and then the crystal-clear waters of Phi Phi, perfect for unwinding after days filled with discovery.

A well-balanced journey that blends history, traditions, and spectacular landscapes at every stage.

DAY 2 TUE/THU/SUN: BANGKOK

After breakfast, visit three of the city's most unusual Buddhist temples. We'll begin with Wat Traimit, located at the edge of Chinatown on Yaowarat Road, near Hualampong Railway Station. Wat Traimit houses the world's largest solid gold Buddha, measuring almost five meters tall and weighing five and a half tons. The tour continues to Wat Pho, Bangkok's largest temple, home to the enormous reclining Buddha and the Chedis of the Kings. It is one of the city's largest temples, famous for its gigantic reclining Buddha, which measures 46 meters long and is covered in gold. Transfers are included.

Next, you will visit the Grand Palace, undoubtedly the city's most famous landmark. Built in 1782, it served for 150 years as the home of the King of Thailand, the royal court, and the administrative seat of government. The Grand Palace in Bangkok is an ancient building that continues to impress visitors with its beautiful architecture and intricate details. Within the complex lies Wat Phra Kaew – the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (officially Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) – considered the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand. It is here that the country's most revered Buddha image, meticulously carved from a single block of jade, is enshrined.

DAY 4 THU/SAT/MAR: BANGKOK – CHIANG RAI
DAY 4 THU/SAT/MAR: BANGKOK – CHIANG RAI

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Chiang Rai.

Arrive in Chiang Rai no later than 10:00 AM. Proceed to Chui Fong, a beautiful tea-growing region. Surrounded by plantations on the slopes of small hills, you can enjoy various treats such as tea ice cream and tea cake (at your own expense), followed by lunch at a nearby local restaurant.

Next, we will visit the Opium House Museum before departing for the Mae Chan district north of Chiang Rai. Continuing on foot, we will ascend the hills through narrow streets to visit a village of the Akha and Yao ethnic minorities. Our final destination of the day will be a Karen village. This tribe, originally from Tibet, migrated to what is now Myanmar approximately two thousand years ago. During the 18th century, political conflict and persecution are believed to have spurred their mass migration to northern Thailand, where they still exist today without an official state. The tribe is most recognized for its Kayan women – a subgroup of the Po (Red Karen) – whose necks are adorned with brass rings. Sometimes starting as young as five, the constant pressure pushes their collarbones and ribs down, giving the impression of an elongated neck; the reason behind their nickname ‘giraffe women’ – a truly astonishing sight. Afterwards, transfer back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

DAY 5 FRI/SUN/WED: CHIANG RAI – CHIANG MAI
DAY 5 FRI/SUN/WED: CHIANG RAI – CHIANG MAI

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will transfer to the pier for a longtail boat trip down the Kok River, visiting the Karen people and other hill tribes. Passing through small villages, bamboo huts, and dense jungle, we will explore the area before returning to the pier. We will continue with a visit to Wat Rong Suea Tean (the Blue Temple), another unusual modern Buddhist temple distinguished by its intense blue color and elaborate statues. Next, we will visit the famous white temple of Wat Rong Khun (White Temple). After the visit, we will travel from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai by road (approximately 3 hours).

Arrival in Chiang Mai and lunch at a local restaurant.

Our final visit will be to the Wat Doi Suthep complex; a magnificent temple located at an elevation of 1000 meters on the slopes of a forested mountain. Requiring a climb of 306 steps with Naga serpent railings, this sacred temple offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city, as well as a wide variety of images and frescoes for those willing to undertake the climb.
