Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will visit Tierra del Fuego National Park: 12 km west of Ushuaia is the entrance to the park, the only one with a sea coast in our country. It covers an area of 63,000 hectares, home to lenga trees, sour cherry trees, ñires, calafates, and notros, as well as flowers such as orchids, violets, and senecios. A walk through this National Park, in addition to offering multiple panoramic views of the Beagle Channel framed by the mountains and forest, brings us closer to nature. The opportunity to breathe the sea air along with the scent of the forest is a privilege only a few can enjoy.
We will continue along the path that traces a very thin strip on the mountainside; we will pass through peat bogs and beaver dams, and arrive at the Lapataia River. Upon crossing it, the route becomes winding and dotted with shrubby vegetation, offering panoramic views, such as those of Laguna Verde. The kaikenes and the lapwings arrive here every summer. If you want to feel like the protagonist of a story, we recommend a hike along the trail that leads to Laguna Negra or the Los Beavers Trail, to experience the work of these curious animals. Then begins the final stretch to Lapataia (the end of National Route 3), where the ancient inhabitants of the area have left their testimony: the shell middens, incredible archaeological sites. During this trip, we will take the train to the end of the world, which runs along the same tracks as during the prison era, when it transported prisoners to work in the subantarctic forests. At the station, located 8 km from Ushuaia within the National Park, the quartet "Del '65" performs classic tangos to liven up the wait. "La Camila" is one of the two steam locomotives that lead the journey of the southernmost train in the world. In addition to passing through ancient forests, rivers, valleys, and beautiful peat bogs, the tour makes a stop at La Macarena waterfall, where you can descend to an ancient aboriginal camp.
Before returning to Ushuaia, there is a stop in front of Lake Acigami ex Roca, whose color varies depending on the weather, with the opportunity to enjoy hot chocolate at the confectionery. Upon arrival in Ushuaia, there is free time for lunch.
Later, we will sail to Isla de Lobos: We will set sail from the local tourist pier, traveling across the wide Ushuaia Bay until we reach the Beagle Channel through Paso Chico. There, we will sail around Isla de los Pájaros, where we will appreciate the Fuegian birdlife, observing skuas, black-browed albatrosses, steamer ducks, cauquenes, kelp gulls, and great grey gulls; and Isla de los Lobos, where we will observe fur seals and sea lions. Both islands belong to the Bridges Archipelago.
Upon arriving at Les Eclaireurs (The Illuminators) Lighthouse, we'll be able to appreciate the colonies of imperial cormorants and crag cormorants, and also hear the story of the sinking of the SS Monte Cervantes in 1930. At the end of the trip, you'll be amazed by the view of the mountain range surrounding the city of Ushuaia and its sumptuous natural surroundings. This tour offers great historical and scenic value, visiting privileged and interesting spots throughout the voyage, which you can discover by sailing with Canoero Catamarans through the waters of the Beagle Channel. At the end of the trip, return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
