DAY 2 • RHODES

Arrival time in Rhodes: 08:30 a.m. The island of Rhodes, the largest of the 12 islands of Greece, is located in the Aegean Sea, just across from Marmaris. Rhodes lives almost exclusively from tourism and is known for its rich history and beautiful landscapes. The city of Rhodes, considered the center of the island, is divided into two areas: the Old Town and the New Town. The Old Town, as the name suggests, houses the most important historical buildings. Surrounded by walls 12 meters thick, this area is marked by the influence of the Knights of the Order of St. John and the Ottoman period. The Old Town, with its narrow streets where the knights once traveled, its mysterious castles, churches, and mosques, is the part of the island that attracts the most tourists. The Archaeological Museum, which once served as a hospital for the knights, and the statue of Aphrodite in this museum are some of the must-visit spots. Lindos, 47 km from the city of Rhodes, is the second most visited destination on the island. This picturesque village, with its whitewashed houses and indigo blue windows adorned with geraniums, is characterized by its narrow, winding streets. At the top of the town is the ancient castle, which offers a stunning view and is an important relic of the island's history. For those who do not wish to hike to the castle, local donkey taxis offer a fun and traditional way to get there. The ship will depart from the port at 6:00 p.m.

PATMOS
