The capital and port city of Oranjestad is known for its colorful Dutch colonial "gingerbread" houses painted in vibrant Caribbean hues. While Aruba is only 32 kilometers long from end to end, it offers incredible contrasts. Take a cruise to Aruba and go from relaxing in a tropical paradise to hiking through rugged desert terrain in no time. The southern coast is a great photo opportunity; a bustling port city surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal-clear aquamarine waters. To the north, waves crash against a rocky coast, dotted with cliffs, cacti, and divi-divi trees. Best of all, you don't have to choose where to go: just which place to visit first.
